Fitness & Surf (Myths)

Updated: Nov 6, 2020

I see your struggles guys !

Too many times I have heard from my students

"I am worried I am not fit enough for surfing".

There are so many myths around surfing and fitness.

The truth is, you don't need to have any specific level of training or fitness in order to learn how to surf.

You can have so much fun on a wave, no matter what your fitness level is.

Of course, if you don’t do any movement or any exercise at all then you should do a few exercises to help better prepare for surfing.

But you don't need a complicated fitness program to do this.

There are simple, easy exercises that you can do at home, that can prepare your body for surfing.

How many times a week ?

Well, you just have to ask yourself, how much do you want to get out of surfing.

This will tell you how much exercise you should be doing.

It is always a good idea to prepare your muscles and your body one week or two before a surf camp, and to keep your "surfing" muscles active if you are learning to surf and go to the beach often.
