THE SPAIN SURF EXPERIENCE

a week of personalised surf coaching and slow travel on the wild coast of Galicia, designed to help you learn how to catch waves, read the ocean, and be more confident and independent in the water. If you surf a longboard, we will work on cross steps and other longboard technique as well.

Galicia, north of Spain

May  8-15 , 2027

for beginner surfers and longboarders

IMG_4973.JPG

Not a surf camp. Not a retreat.

Something else entirely.

You arrived wondering what you might learn.

Maybe even wondering whether this experience would really be worth the investment.

Then Andrew starts talking. About the water. About where waves come from, what shapes them, what changes them, and what all of that means for the person sitting on a surfboard trying to make a decision.

And suddenly, the ocean in front of you is no longer simply a collection of waves coming toward the beach.

You begin to see structure. Patterns.

And by the second morning, the ocean already looks different.

You are starting to understand waves deeper than you ever have.

For the beginner, the ocean starts to feel less unpredictable.

For the longboarder surfer, the surprise goes even deeper.

You may have already done the camps, the retreats, the lessons.

You arrived here hoping for a better pop up, a cleaner turn, a few useful corrections.

Then the coaching begins. And it's personal, it's so adapted to you and the way you learn that you begin to actually understand the science behind what you are doing. And little by little your idea of surfing changes. So does your idea of what you are capable of.

This is a very different trip than anything you've ever been to. It's not a coach half your age, surfing more waves than you, telling you to paddle harder or pushing you into waves.

This is professional surf coaching for adults who are looking for more than surf lessons, and an unforgettable experience filled with fun, beautiful waves, authentic local experiences and new friendships that will last forever.

It’s a big promise, and we put our names behind it.

Andrew and Ele.

Galicia's wild coast.
Slow. Local. Unhurried.

There is a rhythm to this corner of Galicia.
Green hills running down to the Atlantic. Stone harbours and fishing boats. Small, friendly waves in early May, cool water, and mornings set by the tide.

From 8 to 15 May 2027, a small group of adult beginners and longboarders will join us here for seven nights.

Personal coaching every session. Real progress in the water. And time to settle into a place instead of passing through it.

We do not run the same week on repeat. This trip happens once a year, and we build it around the people who come, the ocean on the day, and what each person needs to move forward in their surfing.

Andrew's coaching is personalised even in a group setting,  so the level of the people around you never shapes your week.

Around the surfing, Ele shapes the rest: the local experiences, the food, the slow afternoons, and the small details that let you stop organising and just be there.

Seven nights. One boutique hotel in an old fishing town, a short walk from the sea.
Time to surf.
Time to enjoy the local culture and the beautiful rich nature of Galicia.
Time to become more of the surfer you came here to be.

The way surf travel was meant to be.

Across the world, surf travel has become predictable.
Crowded lessons. Recycled programs. The same coaching model delivered week after week, regardless of who stands in the water.
Progress plateaus not because people lack talent, but because the method never adapts to them.

We built our coaching around the opposite idea: that precision and presence create transformation.

Andrew Goodman has surfed for over four decades and coached for eighteen years, guiding more than 8,000 clients worldwide.

His teaching has been featured in Surfer Magazine for redefining how adults learn, combining scientific clarity with intuitive observation.

Each guest receives guidance shaped by their physiology, mindset, and learning style.

Alongside him, Eleonora Fiorini curates every layer of the experience, from travel flow to fun, ensuring that guests feel both challenged and supported.

Guests from our surf experiences describe her coordination and cultural insight as “exceptional.”

Together, we’ve created an approach that feels different because it is different: attentive, intelligent, and deeply personal.

Where most instruction ends with information, ours begins with understanding.

Our Coaching Framework

and why our guests progress faster

Most surf instruction was designed for children and twenty year olds, then handed to everyone else unchanged. Andrew coaches adults on purpose. He is in the water with you at every session, watching your positioning, your paddle, your take off, and he gives you one thing to change on the very next wave. Personalised coaching also means coaching the person: the hesitation before a set, the freeze at the moment you should go. That is where most of the progress lives.

Our system brings together five methods developed for adult learners who value precision, safety, and progress that lasts.

1. The Wave Language Method™

Turns ocean observation into a readable system. You know what the waves are doing, where to position, and why, so you stop guessing and start anticipating.

2. The Physics-First Coaching Method

Based on biomechanics and hydrodynamics. Movement that conserves energy and sticks.

3. The Body-Led Customization Method

Adapts your technique to your body, your age, and your mobility. No forced formulas, just movement that fits you.

4. The Video Analysis Feedback Loop

Your surfing is filmed through the week. In video analysis sessions you see the wave you caught that morning, Andrew shows you exactly what he meant, and you change it on the next real wave.

5. The Beginner Surf License Approach

A structured path to ocean literacy, so you leave knowing how to assess conditions, find the safe zones, and surf on your own.

These five lock together like gears: body, physics, awareness, repetition, confidence. They turn progress from chance into something you can count on.

The Experience

Galicia is the Spain most people have never seen.

The green corner in the far north west, where the Atlantic comes in big and the hills run down to meet it. Fishing towns, stone harbours, seafood on every corner, and a coast that still belongs to the people who live on it. Quiet. Unbuilt. Still itself.

And early May is the calm end of spring up here. The winter swells have settled, the waves are small and friendly, the mornings are offshore, and the summer crowds are still weeks away. Cool water, clean mornings, quiet beaches.

Home is a boutique hotel in the old town of a working fishing village, fifty metres from the harbour. Breakfast every morning with locally sourced produce, ensuite cozy rooms, and everything a short walk away: the sea, the restaurants, the stone lanes you will walk every evening.

The surf fits the promise. Sheltered beaches inside a deep bay, where the waves stay smaller and gentler than the open coast. Soft whitewater for the first sessions, small green waves for the longboarders, and the open coast a short drive away for the days we go on an adventure.

how the week flows

How the week flows

May 8 - 15, 2027

Nothing here is built around a rigid timetable.

The ocean and the conditions set the rhythm.

web-14.jpg

Day one: arrival

You land in Santiago de Compostela, we are waiting for you.

Around two hour later, the scenery changes. The city gives way to green hills, sheltered bays and the Atlantic coastline, until we arrive in a beautiful historic fishing town overlooking the water.

Our home for the week is a small boutique hotel, right in the old town, just steps from the harbour.

We settle in, go to the ocean, and begin getting to know the place that will be home for the next seven nights.

A welcome dinner opens the week.

Your surf experience has begun.

Mornings: surf sessions

Up here the mornings are the gift. Offshore wind, easy waves, cool water, and the beach nearly to ourselves.
Andrew picks the beach the evening before, from the tide and the swell, and we go together.

If you're a beginner, we focus on building the foundations that allow you to become more confident and independent. Learning to read the waves, position your board, choose the right moment and start catching waves through your own decisions.

If you're a longboarder, we go deeper into the art of riding a wave. Timing, positioning, weight distribution, balance, board control and cross-stepping. Understanding how your board moves through the water and how the smallest adjustments can change your entire ride.

And if you love the easy flow of a midlength along a gentle wave, there is room for that too.

Andrew is in the water coaching you personally, observing the details you cannot see yourself and giving you specific adjustments you can put into practice on your very next wave.

Each session builds on the last.

Middays

Wetsuits come off.

Lunch is a picnic by the water or in one of the little restaurants where the fishermen eat.

A coffee in the sunshine, perhaps. A wander through the harbour.

There is time to rest, recover and enjoy being somewhere beautiful, without rushing from one activity to the next.

Because progress also needs space.

Afternoons: coaching, time to explore, time to rest

Some days is coaching and video analysis.

Some days is time to explore the beautiful village.

And some days it is a nap, a coffee on the harbour, an excursion, or an hour doing absolutely nothing.

Evenings : the pleasure of being here.

Galicia is a place that feeds you.
Seafood off the boats that morning, old streets and local restaurants, a glass of local white, a social table...

You arrive as a group of people from different places, with different surfing experiences, but a shared love of the ocean.

You leave this experience with friends for life.

Some evenings are for long chats around a table.

Others are for a quiet stroll by the water, or simply enjoying a little time to yourself.

This is your holiday, too.

Beyond the surfing: Discovering Galicia

One day we leave the bay behind and drive the coast: a waterfall that falls straight into the sea, and the long empty sands of Carnota beach.

Another evening, a picnic on the cliffs, the Atlantic below us, and the sun going down at the end of the known world.

We want you to remember where you were, just as vividly as what you learned in the water.

And eventually, the last morning arrives.

Bags are packed and we make our way back toward Santiago de Compostela.

You leave with new friendships, wonderful memories and the confidence that comes from beginning to understand the ocean for yourself.

Seven days that change how you surf

There is a moment we see on almost every trip.

Andrew stops being the first person our guests look toward.

They begin looking at the ocean instead.

They paddle because they chose the wave.

And somewhere between thinking and doing, confidence becomes understanding.

That is what we want for you in Spain.

Not simply a beautiful week in Galicia.

Something you take home.

The ability to catch waves on your own.

Read the ocean better.

Trust yourself more deeply.

Then do it again on your next surf trip, independently.

We want your independence in the water because that's true surfing progression.
