THE NICARAGUA SURF EXPERIENCE
8 days of deeply personalised surf coaching and authentic surf travel on Nicaragua’s Pacific coast, designed to help you read the ocean, choose your own waves, and be more confident and independent in the water.
Playa Maderas, Nicaragua
April 9-17 , 2027
for beginner to early intermediate adult surfers, looking to become more independent in the water

Not a surf camp. Not a retreat.
Something else entirely.
You arrived wondering what you might learn.
Maybe even wondering whether this experience would really be worth the investment.
Then Andrew starts talking. About the water. About where waves come from, what shapes them, what changes them, and what all of that means for the person sitting on a surfboard trying to make a decision.
And suddenly, the ocean in front of you is no longer simply a collection of waves coming toward the beach.
You begin to see structure. Patterns.
And by the second morning, the ocean already looks different.
You are starting to understand waves deeper than you ever have.
For the beginner, the ocean starts to feel less unpredictable.
For the intermediate surfer, the surprise goes even deeper.
You may have already done the camps, the retreats, the lessons.
You arrived here hoping for a better pop up, a cleaner turn, a few useful corrections.
Then the coaching begins. And it's personal, it's so adapted to you and the way you learn that you begin to actually understand the science behind what you are doing. And little by little your idea of surfing changes. So does your idea of what you are capable of.
This is a very different trip than anything you've ever been to. It's not a coach half your age, surfing more waves than you, telling you to paddle harder or pushing you into waves.
This is professional surf coaching for adults who are looking for more than surf lessons, and an unforgettable experience filled with fun, beautiful tropical waves, authentic local experiences and new friendships that will last forever.
It’s a big promise, and we put our names behind it.
Andrew and Ele.

Nicaragua’s Pacific coast. Warm. Wild. Unhurried.
There is a particular rhythm to Playa Maderas.
Tropical hills falling toward the Pacific. Warm water. Panga boats and fishermen. Mornings shaped by the ocean rather than the clock, and authentic local experiences.
From April 9 to 17, 2027, a small group of adult surfers will join us here for eight nights of deeply personalised coaching, surf progression, and the kind of travel that gives you space to settle into a place rather than simply pass through it.
We do not repeat the same program week after week. This experience happens only once a year, and it carries the special energy of something rare and unique, created by our passion and love for surfing and surf coaching.
Each experience is shaped around the people who join, the conditions of the ocean, and what each person genuinely needs to progress.
Every session is approached differently.
Technique, confidence, mindset, wave reading, decision-making. Andrew coaches individually even in a group setting, and because of this, the level of the other people in the group does not affect your experience.
And around the surfing, Ele shapes the rest: the local experiences, the food, the recovery and wellbeing, and all the small details that allow you to stop organising and simply be there, be in the moment and enjoy this beautiful trip.
8 nights. Villas above the Pacific.
Time to surf.
Time to understand.
Time to become more of the surfer you came here to be.

The way surf travel was meant to be.
Across the world, surf travel has become predictable.
Crowded lessons. Recycled programs. The same coaching model delivered week after week, regardless of who stands in the water.
Progress plateaus not because people lack talent, but because the method never adapts to them.
We built our coaching around the opposite idea: that precision and presence create transformation.
Andrew Goodman has surfed for over four decades and coached for eighteen years, guiding more than 8,000 clients worldwide.
His teaching has been featured in Surfer Magazine for redefining how adults learn, combining scientific clarity with intuitive observation.
Each guest receives guidance shaped by their physiology, mindset, and learning style.
Alongside him, Eleonora Fiorini curates every layer of the experience, from travel flow to fun, ensuring that guests feel both challenged and supported.
Guests from our surf experiences describe her coordination and cultural insight as “exceptional.”
Together, we’ve created an approach that feels different because it is different: attentive, intelligent, and deeply personal.
Where most instruction ends with information, ours begins with understanding.

Our Coaching Framework
and why our guests progress faster
Most surf instruction was designed for children and twenty year olds, then handed to everyone else unchanged. Andrew coaches adults on purpose. He is in the water with you at every session, watching your positioning, your paddle, your take off, and he gives you one thing to change on the very next wave. Personalised coaching also means coaching the person: the hesitation before a set, the freeze at the moment you should go. That is where most of the progress lives.
Our system brings together five methods developed for adult learners who value precision, safety, and progress that lasts.
1. The Wave Language Method™
Turns ocean observation into a readable system. You know what the waves are doing, where to position, and why, so you stop guessing and start anticipating.
2. The Physics-First Coaching Method
Based on biomechanics and hydrodynamics. Movement that conserves energy and sticks.
3. The Body-Led Customization Method
Adapts your technique to your body, your age, and your mobility. No forced formulas, just movement that fits you.
4. The Video Analysis Feedback Loop
Your surfing is filmed through the week. In video analysis sessions on the villa screen you see the wave you caught that morning, Andrew shows you exactly what he meant, and you change it on the next real wave.
5. The Beginner Surf License Approach
A structured path to ocean literacy, so you leave knowing how to assess conditions, find the safe zones, and surf on your own.
These five lock together like gears: body, physics, awareness, repetition, confidence. They turn progress from chance into something you can count on.

The Experience
Nicaragua today is what Costa Rica felt like twenty years ago
The same Pacific coastline, the same offshore mornings, the same warm, generous people. Quieter. Less built. Still itself. The travel press has started saying it out loud, which means the window on this version of Nicaragua is closing. We are going while it is still true. And April is the calm end of the season on that coast: consistent waves, warm water, and the high season crowds gone home.
Home is villas on the hillside above Playa Maderas, booked for us, steps from the wave. Boutique rather than touristic resort: 2 ensuite rooms in each villa, your own private single room if you want one, kitchens, pools, an ocean deck, an outdoor jungle gym.
The surf fits the promise. A beach break below the villas for the first few sessions, long forgiving runways down the coast for space to learn, and mellower bays for slow, clean waves when that is what your surfing needs.
Different spots for different days, chosen each morning.

How the week flows
April 9 - 17, 2027
Nothing here is built around a rigid timetable.
The ocean and the conditions shape this itinerary, every day.

Day one: arrival
You land in Managua.
We are waiting.
One group pickup, one journey toward the Pacific, and from that moment the logistics disappear into the background.
We travel to the coast together, settle into the villas, and get a first look at the water, with a first surf session.
A welcome dinner opens the week...
The experience has begun.
Mornings: surf sessions
Coached sessions split by ability, so you are always on a wave that matches where you are, with room to make mistakes and the coaching to turn them into progress.
Andrew is in the water, offering personalised surf coaching.
Local guides and support coaches to help with timing and positioning.
There are multiple spots we will be visiting, and transportation is by jeeps, all included and part of the experience.

Middays
Boards are rinsed.
Long lunches, hammock time.
The pool looks increasingly convincing.
There is nowhere else you need to be.
Afternoons
Sometimes the ocean invites you back for a second surf session in the afternoon.
Sometimes your body asks for recovery.
A second surf session.
A stretch on the deck.
A massage from the in house therapist.
Time in the pool.
A quiet hour doing absolutely nothing.
Learning to choose is part of becoming a surfer.
Evenings: video analysis, and the group dinners
Some evenings, the waves return on the villa screen for video analysis.
You see yourself surfing.
The thing Andrew mentioned in the water becomes so clear.
One small adjustment begins to make sense.
Then the screen goes dark and dinner appears.
Good food.
Bare feet.
Long conversations.
The kind of evenings no itinerary can manufacture.

One day, we leave the road behind.
A local Panga boat takes us out for an unforgettable experience.
Ocean all around us.
A swim stop in a quiet bay.
A day that has very little to prove and that becomes one of the ones everyone remembers.
And eventually, the last morning arrives.
Boards are packed.
The villas are quieter.
One transfer takes us back to Managua.
You leave with new frienships that will last a lifetime.

Who this is for
This trip is for adults who came to surfing later in life, want coaching built for exactly that, and are looking to become more independent in the water.
You can catch whitewater waves, or some green waves with help, and what you want now is to catch them on your own more consistently.
You want to feel more confident and independent in the ocean.
You are done being pushed into waves and told to paddle harder.
You want to work on your wave reading skills and understand the ocean more deeply: where to sit, which wave to go for, when to paddle, how to choose a wave.
You value a group of people at a similar stage of life, and an experience where every logistic is handled.

Eight nights that change how you surf
There is a moment we see on almost every trip.
Andrew stops being the first person our guests look toward.
They begin looking at the ocean instead.
They paddle because they chose the wave.
And somewhere between thinking and doing, confidence becomes understanding.
That is what we want for you in Nicaragua.
Not simply a beautiful week on the Pacific.
Something you take home.
The ability to read the ocean better.
Choose waves more clearly.
Trust yourself more deeply.
And catch a wave because you knew it was yours.
Then do it again on your next surf trip, independently.
We want your independence in the water because that's true surfing progression.
